The game is very rough to say the least. The concepts of it are pretty good but the execution is lackluster at best. The backgrounds are just a solid color, the collision detection is non existent, there are only 2 enemies that you can shoot and the both play the same 2 sound effects every time you kill them, and the game-play goes over the title cards.
I was trying to make a bad game for this year’s RAGE contest, this isn’t the usual quality for my games, this was meant to be a joke, thanks for the review.
The game looks like it is shaping up to be something great. The only reasons why I am giving this such a low score is because there is no sound o music and the general presentation like the title screen and text boxes are ether still very rough or look a bit to much like the default GB studio assets. Still good for an early demo.
Thanks for the kind words, the title screen was absolutely a rush-job, something I threw together in about five minutes as a place-holder but didn't have time to change for the Christmas deadline, same goes for audio and text-boxes.
I intend to fix these things for the final game as well as patching this Christmas demo in December 2024 if I have enough time.
For being made in scratch this is very accurate to the original. The sound is 1 to 1 and the game play is spot on if a bit too slow in comparison. The mobile support is a very nice feature to. The problem are the graphics, the pixel sizes are completely inconsistent and the art is rough and lacks any sort of shading or detail.
Overall, better than the ripoffs on the Google play store.
Wow thank you for the long comment. You're the first one to discover it's made in Scratch and it seems you have a lot of experience with games, also I don't think the art is as bad as you described it but sure it is a problem. Haha I like that you mentioned it's better than google play ripoffs.
Also I'm curious how you found out it's Scratch as the whole point was to make people think it's a more popular engine.
very well made but still could use a bit more development. The music is pretty good for seemingly being origonal, The graphics are fine for what they are and the controls are decent. But the main things that you need to work on are the folowing
(1) Some of the pillars can generate too tall making it impossible to jump over.
(2) The collision detection is a bit janky and sometimes makes you stick to walls
(3) There is no background, if you add something there you can bring alot of variety to the stages
(4) The music is not long enough for the loop to sound natural. To fix that all you need to do is extend the song itself
(5) Try to add some way to regainb fuel so the game does not end in 2 minutes.
Just some suggestions on how to improve it.
for the music I have to see with my collaborator, I think I can't do anything about the collision problems I know what you mean, I'm already solving the others.
Very simple almost to a fault, while the graphics are nice and well made. The actual game is very underwhelming and barren almost like an old mobile game but without any sound.
Thanks for the feedback
very well made, interesting game-play and graphics with nice visual effects and sound. Certainly better thain anything that I can ever do.
A 3d platformer on a 2d engine like Gamemaker is mighty impressive! I hope that you can make this into a full game some day.
Thank you! -- I haven't decided what I'll do yet, but the Low Poly challenge sounds tempting. Thanks for checking it out, hope it ran well!
I am Emerald Ground, I am just one person making original stuff since 2016. While I might not be the best. I still can make something stupid and maybe potentially enjoyable. And I also will never do nsfw, don't make me!
